**Salafism** (السلفية) refers to a methodology within Bakrite Islam that advocates a return to what its followers view as the pure practices of the earliest generations of Muslims (the salaf). Salafis emphasize literal interpretation of texts, reject later innovations, and often oppose philosophical or mystical approaches within Bakrite theology. > [!members]- Members > - [[Osama bin Laden]] > - [[Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi]] > - [[Anwar al-Awlaki]] > - [[Ibn Taymiyya]] > - [[Ibn Kathir]] > - [[Muhammad b.
